Kendra Moorer- Fall Career Expo

Famu’s fall 2013 Career Expo launched a new location in Al Lawson gymnasium Wednesday. Over 90 companies were displayed for students of all majors and concentrations. Although more business vendors were in attendance, students still came in large numbers.
The switch from the Civic Center to Al Lawson gym allowed the Career Center to reach more students, especially freshmen. “We wanted to make sure freshmen and graduating seniors were prepared to land a career and opportunities while still in college, we are pleased with the outcome this year,” said Delores Dean, director of the Career Center.

While the career expo catered to all majors, some students felt that there weren't enough vendors to choose from based on their major. “I was looking forward to a medical section and it wasn't much to choose from but I did enjoy the professional environment,” said Shani Rose, nursing student from Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Now take a listen to my live report at Wednesday's career expo. Enjoy!
